Persistence “Road of Life”

My photography is built around collaboration with Ukrainian families who have sought refuge in England after being forced to leave their homes because of the war. Each family carries its own history, shaped by loss, displacement, and the challenge of rebuilding life in an unfamiliar place. Through these portraits, I aim to document both the families and the individual people

Alongside the photographs, I include recorded conversations that allow their voices to exist beyond the images. I also work with archival material from before and during the war, offering fragments of life as it once was, memories of home, normality, and connection.

This project is driven by a belief in peace and accountability. By focusing on the human reality behind conflict and displacement, I hope the work encourages empathy and a deeper understanding of the urgency to end the war’s destructive impact. Ultimately, my aim is for these images and stories to inspire reflection and action toward a more peaceful future.
