Reviving the Moggies traces the history and craft of the Morris Minor Restoration Centre, founded by architect‑turned‑restorer Charles Ware. Drawn to the character of vintage cars and the culture surrounding them, I followed the story of how Ware transformed a small workshop on Lower Bristol Road in Bath into a respected hub for Morris Minor restoration.
This project documents the meticulous processes involved in bringing neglected Moggies back to life. Through portraits of the workshop, the mechanics, and the cars themselves, the photographs reveal the quiet beauty of vehicles on the edge of disappearance: rusted shells, stripped interiors, and the slow, careful work that returns them to the road. Each image reflects both abandonment and resilience, capturing the moment where decay gives way to renewal.
At its core, the work is a study of craft, dedication, and the persistence of a cultural icon. By tracing the centre’s origins and the labour behind each restoration, the project offers a visual record of human ingenuity and the enduring appeal of the Morris Minor.
