Mash Castle

Mash castle is a collaboration land art project created and ran by Tim Southall. The Castle was built with the collaboration of multiple individules such as Bath Spa staff and students and took place behind Bath Spa university Newton Park campus. Everyone joined in and helped with making the trench for the dug up rocks in the surrounding to make a base. From there it has been built up brick by brick, stone by stone. This Process took around 2 months to plan and build. The main questions used around this building and collaborion is who owns the land art and has the owner ship. Because the campus has a large history relating to the Royal Family and the history of the land, we could not use the existing walls. Even though the walls are really old, and falling appart, they are still the property of Bath Spa and it is the traces of the past history. The only thing we can do is only add somthing next to it.
My job was to document the building process to show what he had to do most of the time for a wjile and the structure we started of with. Of course I did help build this castle and it was definitly enjoyable.
